FAQ's

Q: Do you have to be a member of PCC or just reside on #6 to use the pool?
A: The pool belongs to the Resort and you must be a Member of PCC to use it.

Q: Can I collect pinestraw off the course for use on my property?
A: No. Pinestraw located on the golf course is the property of the resort.

Q. Is fishing in the PCC ponds allowed.
A. Members of PCC may fish so long as it does not interfere with golf play. If you see people fishing who you suspect are not members of PCC, contact Resort Security.

Q. Can both my spouse and I be on the emailing list to receive the eCaddie and other special notices?
A. As of May 2009 two email addresses per member property can be listed. To have a 2nd email address added send an email to poa@pinehurst6poa.org

Q. Who can I contact about whether I (or a neighbor) can have a specific thing (e.g. a trailer) on, or do something to a property?
A. POA No. 6 does not have any authority regarding code rules and restrictions. These are set and enforced by the Village. You should contact the Village Code Enforcement Office at 295-1900.

Q. Who can I contact about loud equipment being operated in the evening?
A. Call the Pinehurst Police at 295-3141. It is their responsibility to evaluate if the equipment is being operated outside of regulations or if it is too loud.

Q. Is there a leash law where homeowners are required to walk their pets on a leash and not allowed to run through other peoples yards?
A. Yes. The Village Municipal Code, Chapter V, Section 5-3.1 states: "No owner or custodian of a dog in the Village shall permit such dog to run at large or act as a public nuisance at any time within the corporate limits of the Village and such owner or custodian shall maintain such dog on a secure leash in responsible hands when off the real property of the owner or custodian of such dog." The code goes on to state specific fines and other remedies that can be imposed on the dog and owner or custodian that violate this code. You can view the code by going to the Village Web Site, click on Documents, then on Municipal Code and then on Chapter V.Bottom Line--Call the police when you see this code violated.

Q. Is there an ordinance about picking up after one's pet
A. The Village does have an ordinance against leaving pet feces on public property which also includes the 15' street side Right-of-Way easement that exists on every property/lot. This is punishable by a fine when reported to the Village Code enforcement office (295-1900). It is equally important to be considerate of your neighbors and pick up after your pet if it uses private property.

Q. Can I walk on the course paths when the course is closed?
A.
PCC rules state "the use of the golf courses is restricted to playing golf. Golf Courses are not a safe environment for children to play, members to jog, walk, walk their pets, hunt for golf balls or for any other purpose other than playing golf. This policy will be strictly enforced and is in effect whether the courses are open or closed."

Q. What type of ads can be listed in Classified Ads?
A. The Classifieds section on the website is intended for members to use on a one time basis to offer for sale non-commercial items or request services/items of need. Ads that appear to be continuous offerings and for profit will not be accepted. POA No. 6 members can have services they offer for a fee listed in the Member Services Directory, please visit that section of the website for instructions.

Q. I see residents dumping there yard waste in vacant lot near my home. What should I do?
A. This is not permitted by the Village nor is it fair to the residents who have to look at it. If you observe someone dumping lawn debris on a vacant lot you should call Angel Smith (295-1900), Village Enforcement officer so she can notify the property owner, and you should call the police (295-3141) if you know who the dumper is. Wednesday is pick-up day for lawn debris. Please bag it and curb it at your own address!

Q. Who can I contact about a vacant lot that seems messy and in need of clean-up?
A. POA No. 6 does not have any authority regarding code rules and restrictions. These are set and enforced by the Village. You should contact the Village Code Enforcement Office at 295-1900.

Q. I have some questions and suggestions regarding plantings around the traffic circle. Who should I call? Why don’t they use some perennials in the beds?
A.  NCDOT plants and maintains the islands around the traffic circle. The contact person in 2010 is Steve Ingold, 944-2344. They had tried Lantana but by the second year they were too tall and most perennials present the same issues with site line visibility. Just as importantly, more than you might imagine, vehicles drive into/through the beds and repairs to perennials are much more difficult than with annuals.
